I've never claimed to be the DSM god or anything like that. but i will say i know my way around a 4g63 motor and the car in general...anybody that i talk to about it... will probably agree. i dont act that way at all... all my friends have DSM and i help everyone of them with there's!! i would be willing to bet bolt on parts for bolt on parts i have the same invested into my car as you do yours!..... the only parts i know for sure is that my bottom end and head are 10 times your build... but then again you dont make more than 600hp and thats what my car makes on gates... sooo i dont know what you want from me?! sorry!
Chris.. if you want to race so badly, you'll get your chance soon enough. so stop this 14 yr old bullshit and stop ruining my thread... its about my car and if you dont want to add anything good. stay the fuck outta it, because you can't add anything inteligent to it. if you can tell me how to hook the car up better and stop breaking drivetrain parts.. i'd love to hear it from you!!! but considering you had another shop build your whole car.... i would stay out of it. you dont learn anything from writing a check! lol

Cool dude, stop with the High School drama, your bickering is ridiculous. If you hate this site so much then please, the Log Out button is on the top right of the tool bar, GTFO. If more of your childish bickering follows, you will receive an infraction / ban. Later homie. - Josh

Oh yeah, and Scotties 200k trans. lol It's all about pre-loading the drivetrain. There are guys running 9's with less than 600whp. Jesus. Too worried about the pretty shiny crap and not putting enough emphasis on the basics.

very true... but its hard to hold together rear axles when your turbo goes from making no power to over 500whp more in 600-700rpm. stock axles dont like that at all. wayyy different than driving a 35R car powerband. im sure you can understand that.

Oh yeah for sure. I have to add that I thought your car had TONS of potential. But most people dont understand that building a 8sec dsm is not easy and a lot of trial and error. My car at its best right now would run a low 10 with a super-pimp launch and quick shifting. But If I wanted to run low 9's it would be completely new build (besides the block).

yea, but theres not a lot of people on here that can understand that. because the've never been in that position. Kiggly is about the only other person that can vouch for how long it takes to accomplish something. his car is twice as light as mine on an auto and it took him many years to get where the car is now and where it should be. which btw... Congrats to him. it took AMS 2 years to go from running 10.30's....to running 8.65 and many different setups and axles and now a complete solid axle rear end. making power is EASY.... getting everything to stay together is very very hard.
wish more people were more open minded about things. thats all im asking people to look at. and Bewstin20..... your right, it cost you another $4000-$5000 or more to drop another second fairly reliably and keep it running consistent if there is such a thing.

If I am not mistaken, there is a video of the car trapping 140+mph somewhere around here.

Tim,
All the noobs bickering with you in this thread, that's why I called out that "easy 9's" comment back when you were first getting the car finished. I was trying to help you avoid all this mess, and having to justify things. You're right, these cars are not a "finish on Friday 160mph traps on Saturday" type of deal, too many variables. Everyone knows the car *will* go fast, pretty easy to see in my opinion, I mean when you put a Shearer header on one of Marco's motors, with a GT45R sized compressor and all the other supporting components, it's really just a matter of time and experimenting until the car gets *more* consistent and puts down a quick ET. I do wish you good luck (and no breakage!) this coming year, if you need a hand with anything let me know, I know we've had our disagreements I think we could learn something from each other.

Thanks John i appreciate it! i need to find a stock 97-98 talon bumper. mines changing its appearance a little bit. i would have thought it could have gone into the 9's with the stock rear and axles. you can see im preloading the hell outta the rear before letting the clutch full out. the turbo just comes on too fast after 9K and destroys everything. : (
i think honestly thats the best way to describe it... not a "finish on friday, 160mph traps on saturday".

Does it suck going through life constantly questioning people's integrity?

hey tim, good to see ya back,, see at least you can say that you have run in the 10s WITH your car,
I am trying to get into the low 11s with my car and A GT42 Now here is a question for you tim, did you shim your wastegate springs to get 28 psi base pressure out of them ?, or were these custom springs ?. Only reason I ask, because I could only find 23 psi springs for my gates ( combination of small and large spring) I normally try to stay out of everyones hair with the e drama, but I just thought that it would be appropriate for myself to post. once again , good to see you back on xceed.. U are one of the few people that I know, that has a wealth of information when it comes to a dsm.
