I don't understand why it's necessary. First off, Grand Rapids already has had enough issues w/ police and finding a spot for all the cars to meet up. Why do we want to jeopardize our spot because some stupid people have to show us how fast they can accelerate to 50mph. Nobody cares. I have more respect for the fast cars that can take off like a normal adult away from the spot. Hit the gas all you want on the expressway or down the street. It's just stupid that we have to fight about this shit when everyone wants the same result, a mutual place for everyone to meet up at on the weekends.

You will be blamed for it and you just might get your face smashed in it for not using your brain. by many people. If the owner of Dog Dawgs "Chuck" ask for you to not act dumb; then act grown up. Its not the lot police "FD" its the owner of Dog Dawgs we are just standing up for him and respecting his wishes. Habib is also in agreement with chuck. Why upset the owners or the Grandville police? Its a nice place to hang out lets keep it that way.

there will be no "breaking up" or "cancellation" of the lot, the grandville police are IMO extremely nice (I live in Grandville) and they will write tickets if people start acting ridiculous enough, but i haven't seen anything enforced yet
oh yeah... I have some OEM STI 225/45/17" Bridgestone tires that were removed immediately after new purchase of a 05 STI (less than 10 miles), need to get em out of my garage... PM me if you're interested

that's a little different than the lot @ dogs, for instance, should I choose to park in front of national city and review my checking account via the ATM then sit in the parking lot for 2 hrs, nothing can be done about it.
If I run over to Habib's, grab a fifth of my favorite ignorant oil and loiter in the parking lot... same deal.
Beyond that, any amount of revenue Dogs makes on the normal patrons far overshadows any concern they might have for a bunch of idiot kids causing trouble with their 50hp cars.
The whole point of this argument is no matter WHAT event is organized or WHERE it is, there will be 18 year old idiots in $500 cars trying to show off and make immature choices, the only way to avoid it would be having a get together at your place and hand picking the participants.
A bunch of policing doesn't do anything but agitate things, do any of you my age (27) remember being 18-21? Someone tells you NOT to do something at that age, you do it on purpose 5 times more lol

Granted that was what, 4-5 years ago and had something to prove with my little high 12 second WRX... these days i'm already aware of how awesome I am so I have nothing to say when I show up.

Well after reading all the posts above, it has come to my conclusion that the "kids" will do whatever they want. What all of you need to realize is that there are laws out there about how to act in public and how to drive in parking lots and/or streets. If these "kids" don't want to obey these laws, then the police will deal with them to the fullest extent of the law. From my point of view I think that it is hillarious when someone with an 18 second car pulls out of here at a whopping 45 mph. I don't have the fastest car on the lot either, but on the contary you will never see me burning out anywhere even close to Grandville.
