I purchased the car new at Southgate Mitsubishi in March of 2005. The car is very fast, it has/will run 11s in the 1/4 mile while still maintaining ice cold air conditioning and getting 22+ MPG overall driven “normally” and about 18 MPG with “spirited” driving (requires 92+ Octane Gas) It has been garage kept and is not and has never been a daily driver. All of the upgrades have been installed by me with the exception of trans rebuild (TRE -Team Rip, Kalamazoo) and the tuning (Pure Tuning, Toledo Ohio) Interior: The car has normal wear on the body, but looks very good for a 36K mile car. Interior looks like it has about 5K on it. I am a non-smoker and do not have pets. There is wearing on the driver side floor mat from the left foot heal….a new set of OEM Evolution mats is $69.95 from Lancershop.com Body: The car has never been in an accident. It did have bump into a curb on the nose that dented the intercooler and damaged the lower chin spoiler. This led to the replacement of the intercooler with a new AMS piece, and new 2006 Evo IX front end installed by Autometrics Body Shop. (I have pictures of the light damage) The other work to the body includes the rear fenders that have been rolled to allow them to fit larger tires (275/40/17) and the rear deck lid had been “shaved” (holes were filled) by Auto Addictions (Rochester Hill, MI). I have the factory deck lid with factory rear large Carbon Fiber spoiler that can be included if the buyer pays full asking price. Maintenance: The car has been meticulously maintained. The oil has been changed every 2000 miles (or less) with Royal Purple. The diff fluid and transmission fluid is changed every 5000 miles, (Mitsubishi requires every 30k). Mitsubishi Dia-Queen / Redline Mt90. The plugs get changed about every 2000 miles. Warranty: The car is being sold 100% as-is and has no warranty is expressed or implied from or by the seller. It is up to the buyer to verify the condition of the car before an agreement is in place reached. There is still a remainder of manufacturer’s warranty (5yr/60K miles) on any item that has not been modified. The car has been to Moran Mitsubishi 3 times for warranty items. A small oil leak from the oil filter housing gasket was repaired (replaced the gasket) in Dec. 2008. A leaking windshield washer nozzle was also replaced at the same time. The last item was a faulty alternator that was replaced in Jan, 2009. Note: All, again ALL Lancer Evolutions suffer from a sensitive ECU that sets a check engine light for code PO300 Random Misfire. This is a catch-all code for when the vehicle thinks it detects knock. Anytime you install an aftermarket clutch, but especially when you install a multi-disc clutch this CEL can come on. The CEL will come on in this car on occasion. The Brockway R920 in the dash can read the codes and you can reset them with in about 30 seconds when this occurs. If you purchase any Evolution VIII and they state they have not had this CEL issue do not believe them! Random Disclaimer: This vehicle is not equipped with an emission control device (catalytic converter) this vehicle is being sold for off road use only. (Do what you like, just need to cover my rear ) Title: The car has a clean title. Payment can be made by cash, wire transfer, a cashier’s check or money order from either 5/3 Bank or Bank of America. Transaction/transfer of ownership will take place at the bank to verify funds. If an agreement is reached between me (seller) and a buyer a contract will be made and a non-refundable 10% down payment is required to hold the car for up to 7 calendar days PRICING: On Feb 24th, 2009 the Kelly Blue Book retail value for a 2005 Evo VIII with 36K miles on it was $24,420....The buyer gets WAY MORE CAR for less than the retail value. Had some tire kickers and a few offers for trades but nothing amounting to a sale yet...... I am not looking to straight up trade for anything. I don't want your Honda, DSM, Nissan, Toyota......BUT If you need to get the price slightly lower I might consider a (very) partial trade plus cash from you for a: dirtbike, 4 wheeler, Jeep Wrangler, a (some) automatic handgun(s), AR-15, Nice Watch (Rolex, Omega, Panerai) A pop-up trailer, small jet boat (Sea doo style) a high end Mountain bike........ ALL items will must be in good shape and good working order......NO projects needed. No junk wanted! Trade value will be determined by the market.
