09 Cobalt > Srt4

This is my buddy John's 09 Cobalt SS. The car is 100% bonestock with a tune from Livernois. It woke the car up to the tune of 285whp & 330torque with just a flash. Roughly 22psi spike and a solid hold of 20psi throughout the powerband. The car is rated 260hp\torque from the factory. Although stock left alot on the table, it's a beastly sucker after only a flash. I was completely impressed with it & here is some of the footage of the bastard. Enjoy.

seems like the tune could be a little better.... i was runnin a 24 psi spike and 22.5 psi @ WOT... i put down 314WHP and 377WTQ with just reflash & custom short ram intake.... how much timing did they run with HPT?

You honestly cant say the tune could be better without any data logs.

I'm not calling you out but do you have a dyno sheet with that 377tq? Thats impressive.

I hate when people say this.. The car is *not* stock if it has been tuned. Sure, all the parts are stock, but "100% bone stock" means just that, a flash or tune or anything makes it not stock anymore. Good numbers, but an SRT-4 with *stock* mopar parts (like stage 3 parts) would sink it

The tune was from a GM engineer & Livernois's experience with the 2.0 LNF turbo. The tune is the same timing & boost schedule that was used in the Sky & other 2.0 turbo's from GM. Just graphed for the 09 Cobalt.

The car is 100% stock other then a tune. No bolts or nuts have been turned to get 285Hp & 330trq!!!! Although my stg3 can beat it, after driving both the Balt is a more refined\nicer package to live with everyday.

Tiger the car has direct injection, runs 14.7-14.9 Afr's all day under full boost. DI is the future!!!

i would say go back to them and if they're using HP Tuners, have them advance the timing to say 24-26 degrees and then work the fuel trim tables around a bit to keep your afr somewhere between 14.5-14.9 or so. you should spike around 23-25 PSI and hold a steady 22-23. but definitely could squeeze 15-30 more horse and 20-50 ft/lbs without any bolt ons. i cant wait til i have the $$ for a new intercooler/piping, cause the stock one is shit, and a new dp.
check this one done up by Hahn....

How do you know the tune isn't like that now? Every dyno reads different. Hell a pull on they dyno is really just a bunch of numbers that don't really mean anything....

I agree.. Also bumping up the PSI on the turbo doesnt make the car stock anymore.

Beleive it or not, the PCM is a part of the car and although it does not have nuts and bolts can still be tuned. So, no the Cobalt is not stock by any means of the word. Stock implies that there is nothing different about car then what it rolled off the line with, and altering the computers parameters is making it different.

but i am not here to argue the the semantics of the word "Stock"

the Cobalt is fast, however not stock.

the SRT4 won the race from a dig. Cobalt rolled before the arm drop.
