still dialing it in, my laptop has been living with me in the car

still got more to do tune wise...i kept timing really conservative till i can afford a det can(im gonna pick up alooot of power here ....7.5:1 compression and timing would prolly be safe on a 10:! motor...lol)....fuel is holding 11.1 11.2 till about 7k then it starts dropping and i've been letting off at 7.5k cuz it starts dipping into the low 10's.....i cant wait to wind this f-er out to 8.5-9k....pending i dont blow it up i will be at the midnight madness in a couple weeks....hoping for 12's @ 20psi......i know the slicks are gonna be to big for this power level but oh well 1000000x better than street tires

brian im gonna need a hand later this week to get it dialed in better....

Getting ready for metro cruise....its as clean as my whatever was the cheapest white spray paint at the time paint could get.....rims came out amazing....again eagle1 wheel cleaner is the shit















And holy hell torque steer....my gt17 and t28 never pulled like that.....at like 16psi now

Had a ton of fun at metro cruise and sonic afterwards....

The day didn't go off without a hitch....I had to change my oil buy parking on a parking block thing to fix a oil issue we determind was to much gas in the oil from tuning, mixed with a hot day, and creeping traffic, and a super low idle that led to super low oil pressure...changed the oil and fixed the idle and the rest of the day was good

Now its prep time w/ a lot more tuning to get ready for midnight madness...crossing my fingers for a 12sec pass, I won't bee launching hard and I think vtec is not engauging so I'm only shifting at 7500rpms....if I can figure out my issue ill be really happy but I got nothing

my tuning process just got a big boost in speed and ease....i guess i shouldnt have been asking for a chip burner to borrow/buy when manuel had this just accross the street sitting in a tool box drawer

the fender was shit anyways, i plan on replacing both at some point....gotta get the other side done, i got the tabs bent up flush with the back and i pulled the lip around the wheel well just a tad....should clear the slicks nicely

datalogging header should be here today, so i can start datalogging....got the cel to go away...i had to disable knock sensor, i saw it and i was like waaaaa....i dont have a knock sensor...now with the datalogging it'll tell me if im hitting vtec

just did a pull to 8500

whatever full throtal shift is in crome was set to 78xx rpms.....i noticed that was close to what i was limited at....changed that to like 9k or something over my 8500 limiter
and wa-la its functioning

sorry ripper vids by myself are hard so this is all you get....35ish to 90ish(basically downshift to 2nd at 35mph shift to 3rd and only part way threw 3rd)

Whew...so much has happened.....alotb of little shit fix, biggest issuee being a fpr that took a shitt and bad fpr line that essentially was throwing my entire tune off...so I'm retuning now

Then today I figured out I forgot the firering, got that installed and its a different car all together...this this rips the tires off in second as soon as boost hits...ten times harder than it was....going to the track tomorrow so we'll see what happens

Well I went to the porters performance autox/drag event last weekend.... with the fire ring fixed I was hitting boost cut at 6k in 3rd ....tryed adjusting the boost controller but it pulled the threads so needless to say no clean passes....so I just picked this up from a memeber on here




So long as weather holds ill be at the test n tune next weekend and hopefully can get a clean pass

wow its been a long time since updates......i guess not much has happened.....never got back out to the track but got it dialed in pretty good at 16psi which i cruised around up until a few weeks ago when it actually got cold....lol

anyway shes up for now, going to rebuild the bottom end, i wasnt comfortable with the oil pressure at idleafter a highway cruise it hit 5-7psi....it built pressure just fine, cold idle was fine, wot was spot on, just really hot idle was bad.....so it tells me most likely the bearings are a little on the loose side.....i may be tossing it all in a z6 block aswell for the better oiling, depends on what i can find

plan for spring is 25-30psi dyno tune from rcautoworks running ectune software

also mostly what i plan to address is the looks, she is getting a flat rustolium camo green spray paint job and clean up some interior wiring, and if i can find some cheap black int. peices may convert it over

looking awesome man, i really dig this build. as far as oil pressure, what weight oil are you running? i mean 5-7 is low but its not horrible, if i were you i would just run it how it is especially its lubed up nicely at wot!

it freaks me out even more because i have my oil pressure down in the factory radio location....so the angle when you glance at it it looks like 0-2....if you lower your head down eye level you can see its 5-7 sometimes its down to 4-5 when i get right off the highway, after 5 min of driving on the street it goes back up to 7-10

and im running 10-40

found one of the wastgate bolts was way loose and leaking, also found a crack in the mani thats gotta be welded up......so hopfully that will help spool up time when fixed

i'd love to not have to rebuild it though....greg at go-auto said it should be fine as its probably just loose tolerences on the bearings....was thinking maybe trackdown a factory water to oil cooler

i wouldn't even worry about it i think mine was at 10-15 at idle and i freaked out but later found out alot of people had the same issue. i changed the idle to 1100 then and kept it there. but now i put the motor back together i didn't even connect the oil pressure. i said fuck it if it blows ill build a better one.
how much timing you running. your using a y8 head or z6
im trying to tune my cruising speeds running liek 40 degrees and 16:1~ afr. killing it lol

i wouldnt be worried about 10-15.....but when it just about hits 0 it'll really freak you out....yet i have never once had my oil light flicker or come on

timing im not sure i kept it uber conserative.....i'll let rc f with that....i had my det can had no pinging and left it be....maybe added a couple or few degrees from the basemap

z6 head....thinking i might just port a new oilpump and run a oem oil cooler

my cruise is mid 15's afr .....i got some more work to do on cruising..
