I started the free trial this weekend.. I'm sort of lost. I'm also confused because of the guy up there who said you could get to level 13 in 2 hours. It took me a lot longer than that to get to 13. I must suck or not understand what I'm doing.

I don't really get this game. It's fun but there's so much slang involved and I keep getting my ass handed to me on quests because I don't know how to set my character up right.

It's pretty fun though. Not sure if I'm going to pay for it once the trial is over.

If someone wanted to give me some pointers, I'd be open to learning a bit. I'd ask for someone to take me under their wing in the game but I don't want to be a burden and I am having fun running around by myself. I do have some quests I can't beat though because I'm a puny little bastard.

It's tough to get involved into a huge game like this especially at the very beginning. You can level to 13 in a few hours if you know what you are doing, but as a beginner you will probably take ages leveling up. When I started playing this game has already been out for 2 years so everyone is running around at lvl 60 (before the expansions) being badasses and involved deep into the world of awesomeness. It took me like 3 months to get my Hunter to lvl 60 because I really had no idea what was going on except everyone say "it's awesome". Second time around you will go ALOT faster, mainly because you have money and you have a general knowledge of where to go for quests. Second character I hit the cap in about 3 weeks. And it will progressively get easier and easier, you will hear about super nerd making it to level 80 right now in about half of a week. Or even faster now.

Anyways, for your first character it's usually alot easier to start if you have a DPS character/skill. Hunters/Mages/Warlocks are your main DPS guys, and the fun usually starts around lvl 15-20 when you get to your first instance. Thats really the core of the game and what makes it fun. Questing is the ridiculously boring and painstakingly slow part.

Blah.. I'm already annoyed with this game. I'm at a spot where every quest involves me attacking 3+ people and I get killed every damn time. I can't find any better weapons that I can carry, I can't get any training from the Rogue trainer, and I can't seem to find better armor either.

Yeah I know.. find someone to fight with. Would be easy if I could effing talk but they basically shut that feature off for trial users. And I'm not about to spend $$ on a non-trial membership if I'm annoyed at the game. I don't think they thought that part through.

You can quest at different spots. If you are stuck on a particular quest because it's really hard, run off and do other things.

If you are a Horde go to the closest big city, get a ride to another city, and set up shop there completing quests that are 2-5 levels lower then you. If you are Alliance move to the human ground from the dwarf/gnome ground or vice versa.

It's funny but it took your post to snap me out of what I was doing. I guess I get stuck on the idea that I have to finish all the quests before leaving a place. You are completely correct, do what you can, move to the next city and worry about those later. I took this approach yesterday and I'm cranking along again.

Heh.. I burn out on things VERY quickly so I don't really think I'll get past this 10 day trial. It's fun but I have very little faith I'll get hooked on it.

It really pisses me off because I play this all day, and Ieatat my computer (usually fast food/chips), and my keyboardgets really greasy because I don'thavetime to wash my hands.

Like, salt from friesandcrumbs fromchips are underneath all the keys and shitandsometimesmyspacebar doesn't work,whichmeans I can't jump in wow.

Played this game way too long. Ended up having a bunch of 85s and a 2400 Rogue on Sargeras.

Quit after arena season 9 because it was horribly unbalanced and sold my account. Sometimes I miss the good old TBC times.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure just based on monthly subscription costs since I started playing I've given Blizzard over $1,000. That's not counting the software itself. No way I'm making my money back.
