TIM Announces Unique New Race Series

Michigan Race of Champions is a unique new form of motorsport which is a combination of US style AutoCross WRC Super Special, Race of Champions and X-Games Rally. Conducted on a 100% paved course, cars start of at half a lap apart and pusrue each other over the course of a lap or two of the tight and twisty track. First car back to their start position wins. Often an event will consist of timed heats with the fastest 8 drivers going head to head in a knockout competition to determine the overall winner. More seat time per dollar than almost anything else you can do without a cage. Points are awarded throughout the season to determine the season champion.

SERIES WINNER RECEIVES A SET OF TEAM DYNAMICS WHEELS!

unique head to head knock-out format
two cars on track at a time, not door to door
challenging yet safe, sinuos all tarmac course
production based vehicles limited safety equipment requirements

I ran in something like this at a super rally x practice a few years ago. It was a blast!

I'm looking forward to being able to participate now. The previous events wouldn't allow me to use the Jeep and now that it's all tarmac, I plan on bringing out the Mustang. Good stuff Paul!

One question; gloves are required? I haven't found any that I actually like, but then again, I'm probably only looking at doing a couple of these, and not the series. No bare-handers, though?

Yes, no bare skin basically. I use s pair of MEkanix GLOVES. And you also need a neck brace of some sort. I sell some on site for about $35 but anything from a karting one to a full HANS would be OK.

Maybe this was stated but I didn't see it the website so I will ask. Are the starts during the elimination rounds staggered like in bracket racing?
