It had nothing to do with getting out of hand. Its actually quiet at the camp ground. I had to do more with the paying aspect.

They were actually driving around in a golf cart making sure Dave wasnt there.... They said they knew what he looked like... funny, cause Dave was there all weekend. lol.

FULL STORY:

The campground owners thinks we should pay for an entire other night because we are there till like 5 on Sunday (even tho the place is a ghost town on Sunday) Its been a issue every year and every year Me and Pretty much anyone else who left there stuff @ the campground while they were at the track has gotten away with it.. Well last year once again i left after the track and he got pissed and tryed to charge my Credit Card. As it turns out, I used my Paypal Debit card to reserve the 5 sites. (because they dont take discover) Welp there was no money in my paypal account when he tryed to charge me an extra full night for every site I had in my name. He considers that as I used a invalid CC. So after the shootout I called to reserve my sites for the following year (the one that just passed) and he laid into me on the phone and we could not come to an agreement as to what I should be charged for the extra time I was there and he ended up so pissed at me that he hung up on me. He also blames me for any mess that anyone left in the entire campground (didn't matter that they were from other states and not my sites) He blames me for a few of his customers leaving due to people (from another state ) rev'ing there motors during Quiet hours. He thinks I am the "LEADER" of a website that is responsible for the ENTIRE shootout.

Thats the Jist of it - he dont care that we bring him literally Thousands of dollars on that weekend (were he would normally only have a handful of people in the place) Ive personally rented 5 sites every year for over 5 years in a row.

So while I still really enjoy camping and would and will do it again, this year I will not be pushing the campgrounds and I will be promoting the track !

His rate schedule he came up with to jew evey penny he could out of us:

Tent Site rental which includes 1 tent and 2 people:
$28'ish
Each additional person = $5 per person per night
An Additional Tent = $15 per night and does not include any more people. Thats just for an empty tent.
Visitor = $3 per person per night

Some groups ended up almost paying what a hotel room would have costed.

The hell with camping. Get a hotel room and pack it with people. We do it every year and it works out for the better. 60 bucks a person for both nights isnt a big issue. Yes camping is a little cheaper, but id rather have my own shower and the ac unit.

Our cabin had its own full bathroom

This!!! When i go on vacation somewhere i like to be in luxury. ESPECIAlly when im spending the day in the hot sun @ a track!

Its not really all that much more for kalahari. We had two nights with 4 ppl. It was 150 a person for the weekend.

Yeah, we are thinking about staying a hotel next year, but we wanna be around the dsm scene, so we will probably stay at the Best Western with everyone.

Meh,thats why u just drive down and visit the other hotels. That way u get a good nights sleep also.

I am very intrigued by the prospect of a bonfire @ the track tho' ... hopefully people that are not camping there will be able to attend.

And Ashley.. I don't wanna hear about bairly being able to afford to eat ! This year I called and offered you guys Beef Stew made with N.Y. Strip and last year it was Gumbo ! I tried to feed you !

lol... I know... we were eating right when you told us that. But I also agree with the bonfire by the track thing. Sounds like that would be a good time!

updated first post to reflect what ever changes Buschur made since the original event posting.. also:

I looked into some hotel prices and change my booking from BW to Motel6... there is a BIG diff in price, also right next to campground for friends that want to stay cheep and close by.

Motel6 In Milan 491-499-8001 ($69 per night)
Best Western 419-663-3501 ($189 per night)
Econolodge 419-668-5656 ($130 Per night)
Dayys Inn in milan next to Super8 was like 110 per night.

All prices dont include taxes.
