I just realized you had started this thread....

Could you say this about capitalism as well?

*UPDATED* #OccupyWallStreet: The Rap Sheet, So Far
    by John Nolte

***Updated — Today we hit incident 119.
One of the secret weapons the corrupt mainstream media uses in their never-ending quest to Palace Guard for the left is context. For example, when it came to the Tea Party, the MSM was notorious for amplifying a single incident (that was usually a lie) and using it to attempt to smear and define an entire movement. This is what you do when you want to quickly take out a political enemy.
The MSM’s contextual game changes, however, when their desire is to strengthen a movement and give it credibility and room to grow. By dutifully reporting individual incidents but not reporting on the growing scope and size of Occupy Wall Street lawlessness, the MSM is willfully covering up the violence, vandalism, and anti-Semitism that truly does define this movement.

Moreover, by intentionally keeping the pieces of this story scattered, the MSM is allowed to have their cake and eat it too. No one can accuse them of not reporting these incidents, but by choosing not to bring the pieces together, the MSM ensures the least amount of public relations damage is done to the Occupiers.
What I’ve collected below is far from comprehensive but still shows over 75 incidents of sexual assault, violence, vandalism, anti-Semitism, extortion, perversion, and lawlessness.
The MSM could easily tell the story of how this violence-prone movement is becoming an increasing threat to our society. After all, my research below is the result of nothing more than Twitter and Google. Among others, The New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, and the LA Times have willfully chosen not to use the resources at their disposal to give the public an honest look at this growing menace. In their partisan minds, truth doesn’t trump agenda.
A few notes on the list below. Whenever possible, I traced the incident back to the original news source. I was as careful as possible when it came to duplicate postings, though I would guess there are a few in here. There are also less than five examples that don’t involve what I would qualify as outright lawlessness but do help to expose the Occupiers for who and what they really are. Finally, and this is the most important way in which the list is imperfect, I most certainly wasn’t able to document everything. A perfect list would be much more alarming than the one I slapped together in just a few hours.
What is true is that on October 18, pollster Doug Schoen (a Democrat!) discovered that a full 31% of Occupiers were willing to commit violence in pursuit of their agenda, whatever that is. As a response to this startling and frightening admission, the MSM either outright ignored or dismissed it. What you’ll see below proves that at least when it comes to their willingness to break the law, the Occupiers are keeping their word.
The list is in no particular order. Like the Occupiers themselves, it’s unruly, disorganized, messy and not focused solely on the nation’s media centers. The movement is spreading across America and bringing with it their outrageous and appalling behavior.

Recently, President Obama said that the Occupiers are just like the Tea Party.
    That’s a lie.
We need to keep this list updated and comprehensive. Please email whatever I might have missed and any future incidents to jnolte@breitbart.com.
ADDED: On top of everything else, imagine the drain all this lawlessness has on law enforcement resources. My list doesn’t even include the collateral damage. Thanks to Occupy Wall Street’s drain on police personnel, shootings increased 154% in New York alone. What is it in Chicago, Seattle, Boston, Oakland, and Cleveland?
Just last week Vice President Joe Biden was all freaked out about the possibility of crime rates increasing if Congress didn’t pass Obama’s Son of Stimulus. Well, that premise was based on a lie, but the same White House trying to sell that bill of bull isn’t at all concerned with the very real increase in crime caused by the Occupiers they encourage.

I agree, this is turning shitty. Something tells me it's going to get worse. [/conspiracy]

But I'll give you an example of things I see going on as well..

Not to mention, I don't know if you saw the Marine vet that is in the hospital right now from a direct head shot from a tear gas canister.

    or

    http://rt.com/news/denver-police-pro...s-weapons-163/

There are tons of reports of unprovoked violence.

But, at the same time, there are times where some parties who did provoke it. I won't deny that.

These are decently big protests, how can you ever account for every single person? This is a huge group of small groups of people... Of course there are going to be crimes going on? Isn't that "normal" when there are big congregations of people? Doesn't that attract thieves, criminals, and what not?

I also see there are some things stating just how many people got arrested, but not why?

Something tells me because they were protesting... I thought they had a right to do that?

I'll admit, I don't like this protest much anymore, I liked the core idea, but it got fucked. There are too many different parties trying to take "control" (unions / politics) that it's just gone sideways.

I think you have some people (or atleast started) who are down there with the right intentions, but because they didnt have one solid voice or stick to one subject outsiders have hi jacked it. I do agree some of the cops actions have been over the top, but look at what happened to the crime rates in other parts of the city with the cops gone. The cops feel frustrated, crimes happen in the group with little to no repercussion to any aggressors. I mean they have "family circle" time and discuss how to handle rapists.
I think the cops are just getting pissed and see whats happening over in Europe and they are not going to let their city go down in flames. Remember more guns than people over here.

Just a bunch of people sitting around complaining that they want the government to give them more because they don't want to work for it, just like here in Kansas City. They fucking ruined the parks and streets. It's just a bunch of people that have no clue about anything other than that they worship Obama and believe everything he says. There's also communists, socialists, and Marxists that are present and actively recruiting. What an epic American disaster, taking advantage of poor weak-minded people and turning them into neo-socialistic zombies.

As with anything in the past, sitting around and talking, bitching...does not work. It takes a form of PHYSICAL ACTION to make change.

Rosa Parks didn't just "talk" about sitting at the back of the bus...she DID sit at the back of the bus.

Did you actually go down there and talk to the people?

I hear a lot of people spouting the same kind of negative rhetoric, yet everyone I know that has been down to one have completely changed their minds. People believe what they see and read in the news, when it's just complete BS.

Yes, there are a BUNCH of groups at these protests, as these protests are against how the government is currently being ran... Of course every single political ideology will be present trying to derail / recruit. But the main message is that they have no "one" group, they are the many showing their unrest. No one really wants the "fall of capitalism" they want the corporate ran government to be returned to the people. Politicians receiving donations from corporations should be immediately disqualified from American Politics, as they no longer represent the people who actually voted them into office.

I'm done defending this movement. I'm not trying to shove my belief's down any ones throat, I just plead that people do REAL research, and form a true unbiased opinion. Be open minded, because you're going to start finding things you never wanted to find. If you're gaining knowledge from watching Fox, MSNBC, CNN, etc. then of course I expect you to spout ignorant bullshit in this thread, because you can't think for yourself, and require these people to do it for you.

    A line from the matrix

"Many of them are so are just so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it."

The real movement is Occupy The Fed and Occupy the Mainstream Media.

    Some people think positively:

Also posted this in the ET thread, seems more relevant here.

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok … But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace."

Yes, this past weekend I was doing a veteran's benefit for veteran's day and had the opportunity to speak to several people and scope out the occupy movement in person. I must say, regardless of the fact that I'm a conservative, it is/was a mess in downtown Kansas City. From what I saw, with my own eyes, most people there were clueless and just wanting to come out and complain about how poor they are and how they want the government to do more for them. If you want to see poor, I'll show you dirt fucking poor. Poor is people with nothing or very little. I've been around the world.....I've seen dirt poor. In this country, 'poor' people still have cars, tvs, smart phones, xboxes, etc. That's not poor, I don't care what anybody says. Work for your shit. Stop having kids and gaming the system, treating vaginas like ATMs. And to the government, stop rewarding people for not doing shit. Temporary transitional payments like welfare and unemployment should be just that - temporary and transitional. In the UK, you can get unemployment for life. FOR LIFE! Obama and the Liberals, in particular on the coastlines, want to turn this country into a Euro-socialist state. Here, there's NO EXCUSE, especially in a FREE MARKET ECONOMY, that one should be on welfare or unemployment for years, even decades. I mean come on.

The spirit of self-worth, pro-activism, and independence are dying in this country and those are the cherished values what this country was founded and built upon.

I'm not arguing any of the points you're saying. I'm 21, never been on welfare or any kind of government aid (my son has medicade though.). I thank god for the things that I have and know that I am not poor and neither are technically any Americans. Compared to the rest of the world, if you live on more than $1 a day, you're rich!

The points I'm arguing are how FUCKED our government is, please address those statements, I do not support any kind of "welfare state" kind of bullshit. I have previously stated that I do understand this movement got fucked up in ways and I'll also be honest that Kansas City isn't a city that has come up in any "breaking news" kind of headlines I've seen.

The spirit of self-worth, pro-activism, and independence are dying in this country and those are the cherished values what this country was founded and built upon.
You're right and honestly, my personal view is that we should go back and run our government per the constitution. Our government is ran by corporate america, which consists of about 6 companies. 6 companies which control what you see, hear, eat, etc.

Go look for yourself, look at the stock holders for every big company there is, tell me this is a free market when these 6 companies have created a monopoly of the entire United States. Then they buy off politicians.

Watch that video, I'm just repeating.

Do you want to get into how a few of these companies own the Federal Reserve and control / fuck up our money?

You realize the dollar has depreciated in value over 95% since the Fed took power in 1913?

I'm for the constitution. I'm for the REAL America, not this bullshit veil that has been pulled over our eyes.

I hate to keep feeding the machine but the only one I could "trust" out of any of these political scum is Ron Paul. I'll be voting for
him in the primary regardless if he has a chance in hell or not, considering nobody will give him coverage because they KNOW he
would win if everyone found what the man stands for

You want to know why they're being labeled as communists? To take the heat off Europe right now.

But no, they can't be bad people, the governments of the world care about their citizens!

    http://www.thenation.com/article/164...cupied-america

Let’s name this for what it is: hypocrisy made worse, the further perversion of democracy. Our politicians are little more than money launderers in the trafficking of power and policy—fewer than six degrees of separation from the spirit and tactics of Tony Soprano.

Why New York’s Zuccotti Park is filled with people is no mystery. Reporters keep scratching their heads and asking, “Why are you here?” But it’s clear they are occupying Wall Street because Wall Street has occupied the country. And that’s why in public places across the nation workaday Americans are standing up in solidarity. Did you see the sign a woman was carrying at a fraternal march in Iowa the other day? It read, I Can’t Afford to Buy a Politician So I Bought This Sign. Americans have learned the hard way that when rich organizations and wealthy individuals shower Washington with millions in campaign contributions, they get what they want.

In his Pulitzer Prize–winning book The Radicalism of the American Revolution, historian Gordon Wood says that our nation discovered its greatness “by creating a prosperous free society belonging to obscure people with their workaday concerns and pecuniary pursuits of happiness.” This democracy, he said, changed the lives of “hitherto neglected and despised masses of common laboring people.”

Those words moved me when I read them. They moved me because Henry and Ruby Moyers were “common laboring people.” My father dropped out of the fourth grade and never returned to school because his family needed him to pick cotton to help make ends meet. Mother managed to finish the eighth grade before she followed him into the fields. They were tenant farmers when the Great Depression knocked them down and almost out. TThe year I was born my father was making $2 a day working on the highway to Oklahoma City. He never took home more than $100 a week in his working life, and he made that only when he joined the union in the last job he held. I was one of the poorest white kids in town, but in many respects I was the equal of my friend who was the daughter of the richest man in town. I went to good public schools, had the use of a good public library, played sandlot baseball in a good public park and traveled far on good public roads with good public facilities to a good public university. Because these public goods were there for us, I never thought of myself as poor. When I began to piece the story together years later, I came to realize that people like the Moyerses had been included in the American deal. “We, the People” included us.

Why do you think authority cracks down on PEOPLE GETTING TOGETHER so quickly? They ARE afraid of the people. And rightfully should be so...

The people will have their say and there is nothing they can do about it. I honestly believe that's why media and so many other mediums raise up issues
such as race, culture, etc...it's to keep the people divided. The sooner people realize that, yes..we can be from different backgrounds but we all share
the same common goal...the better off we are and the better off this country will be. I do believe people are waking up to that issue
and it won't be long before "Big Brother" cannot control his children

I'm not trying to sound all doomsday and prophetic but I'm just telling it like it is. You can only pull the wool over peoples eyes for so long. Think about it, our grandparents that were alive in the 30's and 40's...they will tell you that they trusted the government on everything. Other family members alive during the 50's, 60's and 70's will tell you they only SEMI-trusted the government. You can see the trend that I'm talking about here. The peoples faith and trust in the government is quickly diminishing and no matter what lies the politicians say to counteract that, the people are not believing it anymore

United we stand, divided we fall. I agree, if people could look passed the "veil of bullshit" (legalizing marijuana, gay marriage, religion, etc.) and start seeing that WE ARE ALL WORKING TOWARDS TRYING TO MAKE A BETTER LIFE FOR OUR FAMILIES AND OURSELVES, then things would work out a lot better. Unfortunately we have people who run around saying that it is evil to question our government and that we should just work and hope for the best.

Top 5 Misconceptions About People Struggling Economically Today

#5 I'm not in debt so why are you?(My parents have money and I don't have school loans)

It's important to realize that not everyone's situation is the same and if someone is paying hundreds of dollars in school loans while you had a free ride thanks to mom and dad(or plenty of other legitimate/respectful ways in which you were able to get through school without needing loans) you are making a lot more than them even if you have the same salary. No one is asking you to fix this or feel sorry for those paying the loans but by no means should you be comparing your financial situation to theirs in a judgmental way. (I make the same amount and can pay my rent why can't he/she?)

#4 I have a job so anyone can get a job(The world revolves around me and all is relevant)

Not all professions are the same and some people got lucky with the right timing. No one is mad at you if you have a job(GRATZ!) or expects you to pay for the unemployed to lay around and eat Cheetos... if you think this you are missing the point.

#3 Anyone can start a business and make it big(Look at Bill Gates)

    Right...

#2 Mcdonalds is always hiring(Work at McDonalds and you'll be able to pay your debt)

So every time a company lays off hundreds if not thousands of workers who have families and prior payment agreements while equivalent jobs fail to pop up they are supposed to go to McDonalds....make $7 hour and everything will be okay? I'm sure they'll be able to pay their debt since adjusting from over 3000 a month to hundreds a month is so easy. Just buy less and go to the movies less, right? Maybe the kids can eat once a day?

#1 Make better decisions(Stop buying drugs and TVs and you'll be okay)

Cause people on unemployment enjoy the hell out of it and can't wait to use the ~$100-400 weekly unemployment check(which used to be over ~$700-1000 check while employed ) to buy a big TV or some more drugs, right? They just want to lay around and live off your hard work...how lazy!
Now while I agree there are exceptions, this was well put.
