    Nice.
I will say, good luck getting 35mpg(unless you already checked and do)
I had one as a loaner and as a rental and they both only managed to get 26-31mpg.
    Still, a great DD
I might want the spyder when you go to get rid of it, im sick of my RS

That's what I have been getting driving to and from school. If I drive it, I get 27 or so. At 6 am, rather than fight traffic, I try and maximize my gas in the slow lane.

I might be interested in selling it soon minus the TSX retro's becaues the ebay mounts broke and its held in with zip ties. I have OEM (used but in great condition) replacements. PM me if you want more info and I will point out EVERYTHING.

On a side note, would anyone be interested in a 'stupid proof' how to on Cobalt retro?

You should create this thread even if it's just for the sole reason of spreading knowledge on retrofits. WAY too many people dropping cheap China 'HID' kits into their non-HID halogen housing headlights...

    Nice plan of mods!

I have given presentations on the topic and people generally fall into two 'areas'.

    a) I didn't know any better. I thought the color was from the bulb/temp not the cutoff.

    b) IDGAF a retrofit is too much work/money and I need blue headlights.

Case b will never be convinced and it is a waste of time. Case a will likely buy ebay projectors and put HID's in them. I get my kicks out of blinding ignorant people with my HID projector high beams when nobody else is around. Which means I could be considered part of the problem.

...And thanks! I hope 35% on the front isn't too dark.

Haha, bi-xenons are where it's at! I'd have to agree with you about case b too...8000k+ are the new Lambo doors.

I don't see 35% on a base Cobalt being an issue at all.

I've got 35% on the front-side windows of my Mustang. When driving, you'll notice the difference during the day and it won't hinder your vision at night. You'll be fine.

Thanks! I don't want to be the usual 21 y/o with blacked out windows... however, i drive 13k+ miles a year and want something to keep the sun off of me.

But is everyone waiting for a ME degree from KU?

Biggest issue is the cig lighter... its a constant 12v so even with the car off, your radar detector stays on. Also, it is so close to the cup holder, that if you plug something in, you cannot use that space. If you manage to, the can gets pushed in the way of the stick.

Parts are starting to arrive so I will fill in as I go.

For those not familiar, a 'retrofit' is the installation of HID projectors in OEM reflector housings. This allows you to safely install 4300-5000k HID's and have lots of purdy purple/blue flicker from a distance. This is what asshats try and imitate when they install their 6000-12000k HIDs in reflector bowls. There is such thing as an OEM HID reflector bowl. Examples are Lincoln LS and Prius which offer it as a factory option.

These are not the same as aftermarket 'projector headlights' which contain junk halogen projectors that produce hotspots AKA light above the cutoff line generally in the center. If you install an HID kit in these, the hotspots get even worse. SOME are even worse than if you just put your HID's in reflector bowls to begin with. Due to poor lense quality, they do not produce much color at the cutoff which leads people to install those high kelvin bulbs we seem to love so much.

With that said... these little gems arrived. They are morimoto mini d2s bi-xenon projectors. In English, they are HID projectors that have high/low beam option by moving the cutoff shield. These are, in my opinion, the easiest D2S projector to install and have BEAUTIFUL output. 4 lanes of foot high white light!

With it came shrouds, wiring harness, and butyl tape to seal the headlights up. Although some people do, I prefer not to use silicone based sealant because it glues your lights together. OEM sealant is buty based and stays pliable.

The shroud is a piece of fancy chrome plastic that hides the ugly-ness of the projector body inside the headlight. I used a stock photo so I don't have to unpack mine.

Will do, pics to come when I pull my lights Wednesday~ish depending on the amount of class work I have. Your retros have held up perfectly in the red one, 20k+ miles! I shipped you sh*t housings, I should have given you OEM NOT egay.

On a side note, I picked up my satin black fushion paint and some steel wool for a grand total of 8 bucks.
