This actually looks like it could be fun, thats a HELL of a long drive to do though. What? 12 13 hours one way? I would totally use my STI for it but damn my diesel Jetta would be better suited heh.

Wasn't last year the first year they did it??

Looks fun, but not something i'd spend $1000 on. I'll use half of that and go to the dragon instead.

Maybe if i hit the lotto.

We should simply plan our own Xceed rally. Make it a large loop around the bottom half of the state so people don't need to worry about getting hotels and crap. Start in Detroit or some downtown area and go out to the west side of the state while making stops along the way. Ask for donations at different stops on the way and do what you can. Cars decorated to get the attention of everyone and all makes and models are welcome. Just use it as an excuse to get people together and drive. Pick a local charity and pool the cash.

    Michigan Gumball vs. Motorcity Gumball

For anyone who says they didn't have fun last year doing the Michigan Gumball, they would be... um.... liars

If you want to compare the MICHIGAN Gumball to the MOTORCITY Gumball then please do !
The Michigan Gumball costs $1,000 entry for 2 people ($500 ea) 3 days of Michigan, a road trip to the UP and back, starting at Belle Isle, getting track time on Michigan Int. Speedway, Gingerman Raceway, and Milan Dragway and ending at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn. plus a HUGE spot for Woodward, we have our own street shut down for us and dont forget about the $15,000 in prizes...

The MOTORCITY Gumball is $1,000 for 2 days, $7,000 in prizes and they travel to Traverse City and back. Starting at Fishbones Resturaunt, in St Clair Shores... going to a spa / resort for ONE NIGHT in Traverse City, and ending at Cauley Dealership. (do they even go into the city of Detroit?)

MICHIGAN GUMBALL has an easy checkpoint system, that doesn't require speeding. Anyone can complete a checkpoint in 30 seconds.
MOTORCITY GUMBALL has QR Codes at UNMANNED checkpoints !! or if you don't want to scan the QR code you can just call the staff and get deducted a certain amount of points. ALSO the staff at The Motorcity Gumball will determine (based on your vehicle) when you should arrive to your checkpoint, if you are early, or late you will get deducted more points. (these are the facts) IT IS A TIMED ROAD RALLY....

These guys from MotorCity Gumball, jocked our ideas and then mock us behind our back, saying they had a horrible time last year is a sales thing to make them look better, I have testimonials from those guys last year, they LOVED it... They even post negative comments on OUR pages and forum posts, saying we are unorganized... we take more pictures and videos in one month than these guys do all year... they HAVE NEVER organized a large event, or even a photoshoot, all they do is talk smack on the internet.

MotorCity has a group of trolls that poach our fans, our sponsors, our facebook pages AND THEIR STRATEGY... is to pick apart every little thing we have done, ask a thousand questions that are irrelevant or negative and expect us to reply to every comment, if we don't we are "Unorganized" .... Well here is the truth, we are out organizing epic events like the first ever DETROIT BLOCK PARTY... We do big things for Michigan and highlight the city of Detroit. We are out actually doing things, so we don't have time to babysit our pages and feed into this negativity.

As a first year event we had less than 5 months to take an idea and turn it to reality ... that's not easy.
This year we are building on our success, take a look at the facts.
MICHIGAN GUMBALL has track time at MIS, Gingerman, and Milan IN ONE WEEKEND !!
MICHIGAN GUMBALL is a better value for the money, plus we will help you acquire sponsorship, we have a system that works.
MICHIGAN GUMBALL IS MUCH MORE ORGANIZED, and we have good intentions to REALLY help Michigan... Jason, from MotorCity Gumball has stated they are out to destroy us.

Here is a Youtube video about the 2012 MICHIGAN Gumball Rally, http://youtu.be/NCznx4krClI
MAKE AN EDUCATED DECISION, THE ROUTE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN HOW MANY PEOPLE SIGN UP... These guys are declaring victory because they have 25 people signed up.

Only time will tell who is more dedicated... I'm putting out the facts here, and trying to keep my personal opinions about this group for another time, these guys are gonna tear up this forum trying to defend themselves by trying to make me look bad... We work 7 days a week to organize fun events for Michigan, and if these guys don't want to be a part of that then let em hate...

My name is Randy Kohler, I'm the founder of the Michigan Gumball Rally. I work for you. If you have any ideas or want to help organize / participate or sponsor and event we participate / organize over 50 events throughout the summer. my email is michigangumball@gmail.com
