    XS now supports Forum Runner

I figured we could use some variety for those who may not like Tapatalk. As of tonight, you can access the forum via the Forum Runner client that is available for iOS and Android devices.

I have simply enabled the plugin, you are responsible for obtaining the client if you wish to use it. I haven't had too much time to play with Forum Runner but I hear some people prefer it. To me, they seem pretty much the same.

You can find Xceed under the Cars > General category or by searching for XceedSpeed.

I'm also looking into getting us a native mobile skin for those who do not like interfacing with apps.

I'm definitely interested in a mobile skin. I don't do mobile apps.

Then I hope to make you happy very soon. Unfortunately Vbulletin's official mobile skin seems to only be included if I purchase their mobile apps which isn't a route I'm interested in going down at the moment. Hopefully there's a better option to prevent me from trying to make one myself. That would be disastrous.

    +1

Apps suck. And i don't really have a problem with the way it is, it's not like i'm trying to view the forums while i'm driving or something.

Unfortunately no. I do have the option of buying vBulletin's mobile suite but that gets pricey. It's $199 a year for the apps and mobile skin but then to list the apps in the Apple app store and the Android Market would cost $99 a year and $25 a year respectively. I'm not sure it's worth spending that much per year when there's options like Tapatalk.

Personally I think they're both about the same however, I own Tapatalk so I haven't paid for Forum Runner so I could be completely wrong.

Tapatalk is 2.99 and forum runner is 1.99. What i found is that forum runner has a free app which you can not post with but you can do everything else to try it out first. Tapatalk does not have a free app to try so i found that the android.net app and the droidforums app is powered by tapatalk and has the exact same layout. So i installed all 3 to figure out what i liked more over the last few days. Needless to say i just now baught forum runner. It does everything tapatalk does as far as i can tell and its cheaper. But what really sold me was that forum runner has a much better layout then tapatalk. Looks so much nicer and feels easier to use. Hope this helps.

Very useful to know, thanks for sharing this info. I'm not very familiar with FR so it helps to have some input from real users.

I'll probably purchase FR so I can at least test both when the plugin updates happen.
