Then again, it's kinda like population control. It also keeps people in jobs.

I'm no hypocrite, people who say they're in a good enough state of mind to drive are crazy. I've done it before and there is no way i would feel safe enough to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and drive under the influence. There is a reason people who have jobs doing things like working on a line, or driving for a living have to get tested.

    I think it's a drug, and that's that.
    i'm with this guy.

In retrospect, i believe medical use is okay. but not medical use to relieve your bullshit symptoms of being a lazy piece of shit. I had a friend who passed away from cancer and he would smoke to relieve the pain from all the treatment.

This leaves me extremely prejudice against those who obtain a medical card for their IBS, or their whatever else an in house "doctor" can prescribe it for. Sorry guys.

Exactly, so why should it be illegal? because then all it does is allow our so called "justice system" to turn people who simply enjoy something that many others don't into criminals because of it. Logic? I mean plain and simple, our government is supposed to "protect and serve" but the government allows tobacco products and alcohol to be sold to persons over 18 and 21 years of age, while together they are responsible for the deaths of approximately ~450,000 people annually, while marijuana is illegal and the use of marijuana has been responsible for 0 deaths.....in the history of man..... All they're doing is regulating the companies that kill us.

But why? I mean sure there are a few people that get their cards strictly for recreational use, but that shouldn't be the sole reason people who do suffer actually suffer from such symptoms, when I have severe back and shoulder pain, I smoke a joint, not take a vicodin, when I have super strong migraines I hit the bong, not pound down ibuprofen, When I am having super bad stress/anxiety/depression, I smoke, not xanax or any of that other super addictive bullshit your doctor can right you a slip for, I mean think about it, is someone going into a clinic and getting a medical card for recreational use, just so they can smoke without worrying about being harrassed by police any worse than all the people who get a prescription for vicodin/xanax/oxycoton/etc so they can get high off of or sell a super addictive pill? Really people, what's the lesser of two evils here.

    ^ exactly.

Marijuana can fix the vast majority of symptoms most people take prescriptions for. While providing an appetite for cancer treatment is the most widely accepted, there are endless uses for the drug. The problem is the prescription companies are a business and they have many many lobbyists. They will ensure that it will not be legalized 100% or they are at risk.

Any of those prescription medicines you just listed above provide worse side effects than the actual problem the user is trying to help. You fix 1 problem and receive 2-5 new problems. I watched a commercial recently and the side effect list was literally 50 different things including DEATH from increase risk of heart attack and stroke. So why wouldn't someone replace their bullshit pill with something that is safe and often times works much better/faster.

I believe those who do vote no, only do so for their own selfish reasons. They're not thinking about all the people who DO need it. As said above, all these prescription drugs have nasty side affects, to the point where taking them is just a bad idea. Marijuana has hurt and killed no one.

I voted no for my own personal reasons which I will share.

I watched my mother go from smoking a joint every day to overdosing on heroine when weed wasn't enough of a high anymore. It's a drug that shows people drugs won't hurt them. I hate it. I hate everything about it.I won't be around it, and I won't be around anyone who's on it. My step-father has glaucoma and some fucked up liver shit which has made him lose 80 lbs in the past 2 years. He smokes it for "medical" reasons. I can't believe that weed is the only drug that can help him. It's smelly as shit, it gives me a headache and I've not (in my experience) met anyone who's life was made better by recreational marijuana use. Weed opened the door for my mother to almost die.. three times. It's not harmless. People under the influence are hazards on the roadways.

I also am very much against drinking and driving. The United States is so very lax on Drinking and Driving. It really makes me sick. In Germany, you get caught once, you lose your license for TEN years. No driving to/from work, no driving if the streetlights aren't on.. NO DRIVING AT ALL. That is how it should be here. ONE offense and your ass walks for a decade. If you can afford to drink and drive, you can afford to walk to work.If weed is made legal, the penalty should be the same thing. Legalize it, but make it a felony with at least a 5 year minimum sentence for operating any motor vehicle under the influence. No restricted license, no appeals.

I am against the legalization of it, but if it IS made legal, tax the fuck out of it, I mean make a joint cost $50. Then see how much those who wanted "medicinal use" approved get pissed off that it's being supplied by the drug companies (and classified as a drug). No home-growing. Make it a felony to have possession of any marijuana that isn't testable back to the manufacturer. Make it nearly impossible to get a prescription for. High? No bottle with your name on it? Prison for a few years. In possession without a valid and active prescription, Prison for a few years. Stop these bullshit people from using the "medical" excuse to get a card and just be fucking potheads.

Now, that off my chest.. I have NO issues with people who grab a J, blaze it at home, and just stay home. I am completely okay with that. As with anything, it's the abusers that are truly fucking it up for everyone involved. Just make it highly illegal to endanger anyone but yourself. We need MORE stringent penalties for law-breakers.

    *puts on flame suit*

im more of a "if you dont do it around me or try and pressure me i dont give a fuck". however, i feel whether legal or not there is a time and a place much like alcohol. obviously most people arent going to go to work drunk/drive, it should be the same way when it comes to weed especially in an industrial setting. it seems like whether it is legal or not people are going to smoke and from what i have seen quite a few people that smoke went and got their medical cards while appearing to be in decent health

now as far as medicinal use, there are ways to have a government controlled facility to make butter and stuff like that with the thc so that medicinal use wouldnt be smoking it but ingesting it. and as far as im concerned the same could be done with products from hemp not related to smoking.

and saying that "weed never hurt anyone" more than likely isnt true. while it may not be from smoking weed, im sure people have been hurt/killed in the same manor as alcohol. I went to school with a kid that got baked before a metals class and then tried to operate a grinder. he was sent to the office because he almost put his finger on the wheel(from being high)

Just saying, most people who use hard drugs, didn't start because they smoked marijuana. sometimes it's just something else that happens along the way. But, whatever, to each their own.

I think it's a bit petty that people blame the drugs rather than the fact they lack self control.

That's like saying "I didn't shoot and kill that man, the gun did."

Same thing as when people blame god, looking for something external to blame because they can't take responsibility for their own actions. Drugs aren't for everyone, if you're unable to control yourself while doing whatever it is that you're doing, don't do it. If you continue to do these things, while they "destroy your life," then that is all on you, no one else. (because you could have stopped, you knew that your life was being destroyed, it doesn't just happen over night.)

We don't need laws on stuff like this, it should be simple: "Like it? Do it... Don't like it? Don't do it." Whatever happens past that point is on you. You are human, you have the capacity for critical thinking, utilize it to make the correct decisions.

you must not have read anything i said, the government CANNOT make money off of it and THAT is why it is illegal. THE ONLY reason people buy taxable tobacco and alcohol is because it is hard to make at home without it being either low quality or tasting of a horses ass. you cannot make something legal to buy but illegal to grow, the only stipulation of taxing drugs is if you sell them, if you grew your own tobacco or made your own beer for your own consumption, the government has no say-so until you try to sell it

weed hasn't hurt anyone, it is stupidity that does it, a moron will fuck up regardless of weed. weed has not "hurt/killed in the same manor as alcohol" because you can't overdose from marijana and it doesn't harm your liver, as i said stupid is as stupid does

That too, and I feel like he's talking about the big guys in the black market that move weight and fight and shit, so anywhoser for gummie I say, bro, of course people are gunna get hurt from the big sale and trade of marijuana, not around here, but down south, with the big drug cartels and shit in mexico people get shot and killed and shit all the time down there, but guess what!!! it's not about the weed, oh no, the weed is just a way for them to make money, and when someone messes with business, well, they take care of business. The only danger from pot isn't the drug itself, but the greedy, crazy, power rich people who wont let others affect their income.

Orly? But they can prescribe you drugs/pills that if overdosed on can kill you and just in general have terrible side effects for any of those 3 symptoms, go try telling the money hungry drug companies that.

So when my back pain keeps me from sleeping every night I should just get over it? You are too young to understand because you don't have any issues yet. When you do, you will realize that taking a pill that is highly addictive, while at the same time destroying your liver is not a wise option.

So, you're saying to sleep you have to smoke? That's sounding more and more like addiction to me....Yes, I know, they say marijuana isn't addictive, but you better bet your asses that those of you who smoke all the time are addicted to the way it makes you feel. You're addicted to being high. You're addicted to impairing your judgement. You're addicted to killing your brain cells.

It just doesn't make sense to me..
