    Talking ********ALL MOTOR B16 EG********

I thought i would start this to kind of let everyone know what i went through with this build, not only this past weekend but kind of the last 10 years when i started this project. At this point I pretty much was "pot comitted" and just had to finish it rather than selling it and loosing my a$$. I'll get into that later.

This past weekend me and my buddies pulled the single cam out of my eg and dropped the b16 in. It was the greatest feeling hearing that motor fire up...........

Long story. It all first started with my 89 crx. Head gasket went out on it and the jdm b16 motor was then ordered for a replacement.
I had a guy do the the swap for me. I should have known...don't let a guy who only builds muscle cars build your Honda! They have no idea what they are getting into!

After a long 3-4 months the swap was in. SLOW! No tune and no vtec.
I was pissed. He told me he would put anything in this motor for free.
So i did and after a year it stll wasn't done. I went to pick it up many times with a trailor and he refused and said he would finish it. Even painted it for me. Which is another story. Wow.

I finally drove it home and it was NOT running good. Then i had a licensed shop check it out. This is where the bad news continued. $3000 later, block resleaved, everything balanced, some porting and a few other things finally got this car running, but not to its potential. Idle problems, it ran a 15.4 in the 1/4 mile. I was loosing to stock b16's and mine was built! Forged pistons 12:1 compression
    Eagle rods
    Crower Valve springs and retainers
    Gsr tranny with quaife lsd
Gasket match ported intake and exhaust
I was like what the hell!

I parked the rex and pulled it out every so often to drive.

I decided to get out of the honda game all together and sell everything. Well, i eneded up selling everything but my motor and tranny. I Could not part with it for some reason. I just couldn't get enough $$$.

I pulled the motor and cleaned it all up this winter sort of like a fresh start for the b16. So ten years since i bought this motor and i finally threw it in this weekend. I added some crower stage 2 cams to the mix. Now this is where the story continues.....

This is just after the d16z6 is pulled. I had been working on doing a partial engine shave while the motor was still in. This is why its partially primered.

    This is after a bath.....

And then i primered the engine bay....

and paint. I went with a flat black.

I'm not your typical "honda guy", but I see one at milan dragway running 13's flat out all motor. That's pretty quick for N/A b16.

When we went to start it my BRAND NEW distributor cracked where it attaches to the cam. Got that fixed then she fired up.

Its was real bogging so we looked at the timing again for like the 20th time and adjusted it one tooth. Then the BEAST CAME ALIIVE!! With these stage 2 cams its got a pretty mean rumble.

Fixed some coolant leaks, but still have a little exhaust leak. I drove her home tonight!
She feels pretty good so far for the 5 miles i put on her.

Found out now i need a new thermostat and pretty much all new ball joints.

    More pics to come...

Keep the GS-R period. there's no reason to change it all. better rpm range for each gear to get best torque out of your engine.
