Third heat was still wet, but not plowing quite as much water as the second. They certainly had the worst conditions. BTW - wish I had seen the save at the cross over live, but I was in the car in front of you.
Had a great time today at the Furrin Group event at West Michigan Auto Auction despite the rain. Furrin group events are always a blast, and offer plenty of seat time. I wish I could make it out for tomorrow's runs too. First heat we got a bit of rain, but it wasn't enough to really slow down times. Second heat got screwed with tons of rain. I wasn't able to stay for the third heat, did they get some dry runs in?
Here's a quick video from the Grape. I ended up 35.1 clean, 34.8 + 1

Yeah that was a good time, definitely a lot better than the last time I was there a few years back at MSU. Was hoping for a longer course but given the dimensions of what they had to work with it came out pretty good.
I'm shocked that I got the mazda 2 up on 3 wheels 100% stock, anyone by chance get a photo of this? I wanna frame that lol. My shitty all seasons are all feathered, I'm probably going to start rotating them every 5000 miles when I do oil changes until I buy some decent tires.
Was a good weekend. I was there for both days. So much fun.
Sunday was bright and sunny and dry and way better track conditions. Sat my best time was a 41.1 in the wet and Sunday I managed to drop it to a 38.5. FTD in the dry was from Rich in the yellow solstice at a 36.0 I believe. I'll try to get around to making the videos of me and my co-driver in the G tonight or tomorrow.
if you like the furringroup on facebook they have over 500 pictures from this weekends event I'm sure theres going to be at least a few of the mazda2
my fastest on saturday was a 39.699 fastest on sunday in the dry was 37.87
by the way for those on the fence about whether or not to do furrin events I highly recommend them. I paid a total of $25 for both days and got in 11 timed official runs plus another 10 timed fun runs
I've never run with another group that comes close to offering the option of 21 runs for $25

This was my first Furrin Group event and I was impressed with how the event was run and the quality of the course for the size of the lot and I just generally had a lot of fun! So thanks to the people who made it happen.
I was only out there on Saturday and we got poured on pretty hard following the 1st heat. I think the 2nd heat got it the worst by far, but the 3rd heat was still pretty wet. I've been trying to figure out a snap oversteer issue with the car for the last 3 weeks and I've taken the suspension off of my car a million times, changed springs, damping, bars, measured the bushing stiffness to check for bind...lots of things. Turns out I just needed a new set of tires. We had a set of sticker Hankook RS3's on this weekend and the car behaved beautifully. I managed to get down to a 38.272 in the wet and was super thrilled that it was good enough for 2nd on PAX.
I forgot to take data and video for that run (of course), but here is my next fastest run at a 38.365. I had the wrong back on the GoPro so it's pretty foggy.

Now i wish I had stuck around for fun runs. any time i've done it in the past the course usually deteriorates pretty quickly
I went out twice and put half a dozen cones or so back in their spots after the 2 runs I hit a cone. I wish they made a rule that if you hit a cone during a fun run you have to park your car and go shag the cone before doing another fun run.
