Threads like this make me laugh. You can sure see whos friends with who when posts are made. I had no idea what both had to offer. If someone said heres a grand I would go with Michigan Gumball. My opinion doesnt matter because im a broke ass. Carry on and enjoy the bs.

Currently i'm saving for a 5 day trip down to the dragon and back, and i don't plan on spending much more than $700. Just to put that into reference. The last couple years have been less, due to gas prices ect. So i mean it's a tossup, between track time and the different options between the both trips.

Also, you guys did this for the first time last year. It was the first time you guys have ever done anything like this i'm just assuming. So if you had a couple things wrong, and needed to be changed around i would expect that. But hey, more power to them if they want to do their own thing right? We'll just see what happens.
Hey just want to point out one thing above.

"Every checkpoint will have a target time based off the speed limit with no stops (not how fast we think your car can go) and will have a small window in which to get a perfect score of 1000 points. For every minute outside that window that you are late, you will lose 10 points and for every minute outside that window you are early, you will lose 20 (we're all about safety)."

So you do not speed to win.

I've been contemplating participating in both rallys but there are some reforms going on at work which may lead to my first exotic purchase thus I havn't decieded yet. It is very clear both sides are a little disgruntled with each other but I can say for certain I have not personally seen a direct attack from one party to the other. From a business standpoint as previously said it would be best not to make posts such as these. It creates high levels of animosity between both parties and the community. Best of luck to both. I may do both, I may do one, I may do neither but posts like this don't make me want to much more.

Actually we have been working with the organizers of the BBQ, we attended last year and donated 100 hotdogs, buns and 4 cases of water and pop... This year we are bringing huge coolers, ice, 12x12 tents and megaphones for announcements...

We are nothing like the Gumball 3000 ... We set out to organize a fun event that ANYONE can attend and afford... to do the Michigan Gumball Rally you dont have to have an exotic car and it doesnt cost $30,000 It wasnt easy to create a program like this, and we started this to bring people together, now I have legit enemies because of this... you guys never had to go out and start a whole new event, we are building on what we did last year, and all you guys could have been a part of what we are doing this year, WE NEVER TOLD YOU GUYS YOU COULDNT HELP ORGANIZE WITH US ("thus Motorcity was born") ... All you guys excluded yourself from what we are doing because of the drama.... and im putting it out here ONCE AGAIN !! (IN PUBLIC FORUM) You guys got my phone # if you ever want to start working TOGETHER instead of against us ...

BTW JAY has been calling Hooters of Roseville trying to do a weekly car show there, and they are not going to just drop us, or start a competing car show so you might want to just try a different place.

    History Lesson of the day:
Actually The Gumball Rally is a 1976 film directed and co-written by Chuck Bail about a coast-to-coast road race. It was inspired by the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash run by Brock Yates which inspired several other films, including Cannonball and Cannonball Run.

If you guys have not seen the movie you probably should... THAT MOVIE is where it all started,

Both Motorcity and Michigan need to learn to spell gumball! Its not Gumba and it sure as hell ain't Gumbal! lol

It kind of makes the organizations look sketchy because they can't even spell their own names right. Y'all should P.M. Brad to change your names.

they have a character limit Rishi.
There's a trick to being whatever you want to be in life.
It starts with the simple belief that you are what or who you say you are. It starts, like all faiths, with a belief-a belief predicated more on whimsy than reality. And you've gotta believe for everybody else, too - until you can show them proof. If you're lucky, someone starts believing with you - first theoretically, then in practice. And two people believing are the start of a congregation. You build a congregation of believers and eventually you set out to craft a cathedral. Sometimes it's just a church; sometimes it turns out to be a chapel. Folks who don't build churches will try to tell you how you're doing it wrong, even as your steeple breaks the clouds. Never listen.- From TOUGH SHIT

Just to get it right, it's Randy (Michigan Gumball) that has supported the BBQ in more than one form!

To quell the uprising that may occur
This is *not* a Michigan Gumball XceedSpeed BBQ. This is still the personally ran Xceedspeed BBQ Unofficial official 2k12 zomgwtfjdmstancedbbq. They are car enthusiasts as well and wanted to donate time/money/food/tents/etc. to the cause, and since we are open to the public, we welcomed their donation!

    Have a good day,

    Jordan K.

    That is a gumball...

Or as Randy, the god of wikipedia copy pasted, "The Gumball Rally is a 1976 film directed and co-written by Chuck Bail about a coast-to-coast road race. It was inspired by the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash run by Brock Yates which inspired several other films, including Cannonball and Cannonball Run, as well as the Gumball 3000 international race."
