    Solar Eclipse - May 20th 2012

    Thought I'd share these with you all... here's what I could get of the solar eclipse this evening before the sun set. (From Chicago area)

    Aw man, I mad a thread in the lounge just for these pictures. I saw it over lake Michigan, and there was a thunderstorm to the south. It was awesome.

    Nice pictures though!

    LOL... I just now saw that! Guess I should've looked there first! The view you described sounds like it was incredible sight with the storms! Too bad you couldn't get any shots of that!

    I got a few on my cell phone that I plan on posting later, you can't see the eclipse itself but they seem like they turned out well.

    Yea, found that I had to crank the shutter speed to the max on the camera to get the nice outline of the sun for these; Otherwise it was just all sun flare. Still sounds like you got a neat shot, looking forward to seeing them!

    You're lucky that it was so low to the horizon for you. I had to pretty much look straight up to take mine.
