Better than a lot of modern Sci-Fi. Written with sequels in mind so annoying gaps in storyline are left. Great visuals, medium script. Worth seeing.

Don't expect major action ass kicking. There is plenty enough to keep it interesting and exciting, just don't expect Expendables or something.

What was the point of the guy at the beginning of the movie drinking that stuff then jumping off into the river?

Yes, I assume so. The ooze in the canisters caused them to mutate...

I assumed that that planet was Earth, and he was "seeding" it with his DNA. Remember that they discovered that the engineers share DNA with humans? So I assumed that that opening scene was supposed to be the start of life on Earth. Not sure why he needed to kill himself to do it, but maybe it's just some ritual they have...

Uh...not really. That scene was mostly just fan service for the people expecting it to be a straight up Alien prequel. Plenty more to the movie than that.

Also, might want to at least put a spoiler warning in your post...

If you were expecting another Alien movie, then, yeah it kind of sucked. As a stand-alone sci-fi I thought it was alright. Left some unanswered questions for sure, but I think they're planning a sequel.

I honestly wished they would have left that last scene out and just ended it with her taking off in the engineer ship to go and find their planet. Like I said, the alien scene was just fan service...

both are bad ideas IMO. This movie didnt look good but I will probably check it out on DVD. And Adam Sandler was funny when I was young but his last few movies sucked. Id wait for that too on DVD.

A few of those are valid. Most of them are not. Most of them are just a case of the reviewer not understanding what was going on or having expectations that were not met.

Just saw That's My Boy (Sandler movie). IT WAS FUCKIKNG FUNNY!!!! I really enjoyed it. Had the old Sandler style yet a new style I really liked.
