Start / Stop Sensors on cource
Does anyone know where you can pick these up, and what is required to use them on an autoX cource? Maybe even what they are actually called?
From time to time, I am able to setup a cource on private parking lot for me and some friends to practice on. Lots of fun, but it would be nice to know the times, instead of just guessing at which run felt like the fastest.
Thanks in advance.

there's a couple ads in the back of GRM for them, I don't know where my issue is right now though.

They will cost you about $1000 for the whole shooting match. Contact Steve Couture at www.myautoevents.com he will have more info on what might work with his system there. He tested a bunch of them for the site.

The timers are very expensive. The ones that SVR use are reflective lasers and the box can track 4 cars at a time.
JACircuits is the company that builds them specifically for autocross use.
You can be very accurate with a stopwatch (+/- .1 sec), so the cost is pretty much useless unless you are actullay running a competition event.

yeah, $1k is not quite worth the extra fun of knowing how fast I went
Thanks guys!
