i went to the honda dealership to get a key made and i just wrote the vin down on a piece of paper. i walked in and out with a key to my car and i realized somebody could steal my car like this. i think they are supposed to use the registration or a title with your matching ID, but the parts guys dont care!

an integra was stolen from a guy on the boards here, and they found the car with a key in it, and it wasnt his.

Don't let crap like this slide.

Call the management of the dealership and make them aware of the situation. If they don't seem to care, call the news.

It's hilarious how many people think they have the right to kill someone who is stealing their car.
Cnaces are if you catch someone in the act of stealing your car there not just going to say "woops sorry didnt think you catch me". No there either going to run like hell or become a threat, right then and there you have the right to defend yourself with necisary force. Besides even if you did kill them you could still say it was self defence. "I cought them stealing my car, they attacked me, and i acedentaly killed them. Woops my bad".

OK, see how well that unnecessary use of deadly force holds up in court. I hope you just happen to have a spare, unregistered gun to plant on the body.

Wow really? OMG!! you learned me something fierce today!

If the person threatens you, great.. shoot them. However, you DO NOT have the right to kill people because they were stealing your car. You are mixing "stealing a car" and "threatening me" when they are 2 separate incidents. First they were stealing a car, then you confront them.. stealing the car becomes a non-issue when they threaten you. Don't get the two mixed up.

And you're obviously not thinking about the litigation that will be served to you by the parents who think their child is incapable of doing any wrong. Your post makes it sound as if you are going to shoot anyone who is stealing your car and then act like they threatened you. Good luck with that, I'd rather replace a piece of metal than lose tons of money trying to fight the parents/family in a civil suit that you'll most likely lose because juries suck.

Woah.... Put a hose down ur pants and put the fire out geeze. I never said anything about shooting anyone. The moment someone is knocked out they are no longer a threat and youd need to call the cops. No shit stealing the car becomes non issue when they attack you, thats the point i was makeing. At that point you are no longer going to be "beating some ass" or "killing someone" to keep someone from stealing your car. No You will be defending yourself to save your life.

OH.. yeah I must have misread this, I read "kill" when you meant "knock out".

I'm guessing you're 17, maybe 18? ...and feeling a little invincible? ...and you know *everything*, right?

Here's a clue kid: Ten years from now, you're gonna look back and realize how completely clueless you were when you were 18 years old. If you can't admit that, then you'd have to admit that you had not learned anything in 10 years.

For example... ten years ago, how much did you know when you were 8?

Bump for this. I'm tired of seeing people still having their Hondas driven away. Read Tony's post and get your car secure. Your false sense of security is just going to get you in trouble. It can and will happen to you, stop fooling yourself.

Good thread. I love Hondas, but unfortunatly don't own a car because I'm always broke. But when I do, I'm going to do everything on this thread. That Honda Si won't get stolen.
