Dude you should have posted a pic of all the shit we threw out of your car, including the 500 lbs of sound deading.
Rollcage....do it! Bowling ball!
Here are some pics of the car in progress at Dustan Performance.
Cage should be done by the end of the month, putting mounting plates in today, maybe painting the interior too.

500lbs of sound deadening? can we get an official weight on that, because if its anywhere near even 100lbs I might remove all mine... I need to cut some weight off my fat hoss of a car.Originally Posted by blackbird55

Jason, maybe you should reconsider installing a fucking PC in your car then! It is an all or nothing thing my brother. Either you are low to no option, or optioned out the ass.Originally Posted by pooshda
It seems a bit weird that you'd install a PC and want to pull out a few pounds of sound damper.
Sounds contradictory to me.

No official weight on all of the stuff, but it was at least 100 lbs. No shit.
Put together a couple of mouting plates today, pulled all the moldings off, and scrapped more sound deadening. F'in toyota engineers threw mountains of the crap in. I'll post more pics soon. Cage is scheduled to be done by March 1.
Where'd that engine go....

Get that fat pig under 3000 lbs!!!
I think it's as heavy as the fat turbo pig right?? like 3600 lbs or somethng???
Brad
You really overshoot what a pc weighs I think... Ill probably add a whopping 20lbs to my car with a pc... the sound deadening would be like 75-100lbs I bet... And Im not trying to strip my car down to make a pro race car but "every little bit helps" dont suppose you ever heard that?Originally Posted by mOtOrHeAd MiKe
Im basically compensating for any weight I have added, so its all about even in the end... thats the beauty of owning the car I own too btw, It doesnt need to be a gutted, option-less, purpose built only car to be fast... it can be a 10 second car and still be nice to take a date out in
Heh getting power out of my car is way too easy, I might as well keep all the gadgets in it and even add more since Its not like I need to remove them for any reason... I think ice cold a/c, a crazy multimedia system, and 700rwhp daily driven horsepower is gonna be nice![]()

So is 1/10th of a second in the 1320 worth all of the road noise and tin sound gained by dumping the batting?Originally Posted by pooshda

Oh, and the Turbo Regal was going fast with class (full options and interior) long before your car ever saw pavement.![]()

Yep, it's a fat whore. Race weight has to be 3380, with me in the car. RX7s get to way like 700lbs less than me. <sigh>Originally Posted by XceedSpeed
heh it sucks... I actually just want to lose a little weight and shift it around in my car to get closer to 50/50 and make it a little more nimble, because that is correct... Supras are pretty fat pigs :POriginally Posted by Supra_Racer
btw, didnt wanna hijack your thread so I stopped the convo with mike... But basically, I wouldnt mind improving handling and weight distribution just a little... I dont want JUST a drag car, but the 4000 stall sorta implies that I suppose.. primary use is drag racing but Id like to to handle awesome too!

Poosh - No prob, but for a street car, especially with a decent sound system, you might not want to take it all out. You could compare the weight of the Toyota shit to dynamat though...
Put your car on some scales sometime and find out how bad it is. If it is close, you can get 50/50 through adjustment of coilovers.
More pics, including the before pics of the body work that Blackbird has to do.
Gee thanks!
I'm afraid to touch anything on your car, i might find more sound deadining we have to remove.Little did we know that Toyota used structural sound deading and now your car has the rigidity of a soggy pizza crust
I saw a post on one of the rally forums on removing body sealer so you can seam weld a car. One guy actually had a tank of liquid nitrogen delivered to his house because he got so fed up with trying to scrap the shit off. I think we could be close to this point ourselfs.
"Trent, why is there chicken wire in your car."
"Because Gary that's part of the sound deadining."
