It's final! Friday Night Meet location established!

It has started! We have been able to establish the first of three "Safe Havens" for all of us car freaks to get together on a weekly basis. As mentioned, this will be the first of hopefully three locations around the Detroit Metro area that we can all meet (regardless of race, color, creed, club, or online community) to keep the scene tight. The location is a well lit business complex parking lot behind the 7-11 on the corner of 11 mile and Inkster and is large enough to accomidate over 200 cars.

There are rules, however (there always are):
The area has at least two "speed traps" courtesy of Southfield Police, so watch your speed and drive responsibly. After all, it is revenue for them...but after speaking with a few police officers "on the beat", they dont have too much of a problem with this as long as we remain respectful to the surroundings.

Spinning tires and loud music will only jeopardise the location, so why risk it?

There is a full service 7-11 on the corner that can accomidate your food and beverage needs.

Great work Tom! I believe it's imperative that the scene have a place like this. If it weren't for the Redline meets, I'd probably still be sitting in Flat Rock only knowing of 2 or 3 sport compact enthusiasts and XceedSpeed probably wouldn't have come about. I definately will be out every Friday night

If you look on redline's board, Tom's talking about 3 places: east, central, west. I can only guess this is either the west of central spot.

Sounds like it could be fun times! Hopefully the weather will start cooperating and it won't be so unbearable to be outside! Let's pray to the warm weather gods for some good cruising weather!

I swung by and checked out the lot this afternoon....GREAT LOCATION!!!....Mental note...Inkster DOES NOT HAVE AN EXIT from I-696.

Yes, it all depends on the weather for the 28th...Plus most of us will be still driving the winter beeters, so maybe be can have a "Winterbeeter Nationals"!

This will be the "central" location, the "eastern" location is very close to getting the final okay and the western location has not been narrowed down yet.

BTW: How do you guys feel about Highland Park? One of the other locations brought up was in Woodward just 1 block north of Davidson Freeway at the Murrays/Farmer Jack/McDonalds location. Cops are cool and lot is VERY well lit, roads are smooth. But some were a little afraid of going downtown. What are you thoughts?

I think it would be cool to try some different places out and actually do something INSIDE the cuty for once. I say give a shot, if it doesn't work out then scrap the idea.

fuk highland park...

if you guys are gonna come down to Highland Park... you mite as well drive a mile further and come to hamtramck... which is alot safer... its my hometown...

on jos. campau and holbrok... theres a huge ass parking lot w/ a Murray's/Farmer Jack/Rite Aid... its way safer than Highland, we actually have a police and fire dept... and hamtramck is 5 min from downtown...

the cops are pretty str8... unless you're just being dumb...
This would be a great east spot... and people who could be scared of highland would feel better... and no 9mm required...
