1998 Neon R/T w/ HRC Stg. 2 Turbo Kit, MINT original paint

    1998 Dodge Neon R/T
    ~66500 miles
    White w/charcoal and blue interior

Purchased from a friend with a blown motor. It sat in a climate controlled garage under a cover for ~5 years before I bought it about 3 1/2 years ago. I picked up a low miles used motor with warranty from Cherry Hill Auto and swapped it out. Replaced all of the suspension/brakes just because it sat for so long and needed refreshing.

I basically just used this as a "Woodward" car, and an occasional fun ride to work in the summer. No track experience of any kind on this car. It's pretty quick (see below) and sounds awesome. I have it running a little rich (on the safe side of things) and it's still fast (again see below).

    Quick stats:

    Engine -
-Stock replacement motor (used ~30K miles if you trust the used engine companies) ~1500 miles on it since install.
-Port matched/mildly worked intake manifold/throttle body
-1st Generation Hahn Racecraft Stg. 2 turbo kit (the one with the side-mount intercooler and BIG 16G) (although I'm only running ~6.5psi, ~100psi fuel pressure.. no boost controller, just
wastegate) ~30,000 miles on the kit.
-MPX Underdrive pulley (old school model)
    -Mopar aftermarket clutch/TO bearing
    -MSD coil/wires
-"Custom" exhaust, 2.5" Downpipe w/high-flow cat into 2.5" Dynomax catback piping but with a 14" resonator and no muffler. Sweet exhaust, looks almost stock.
-and more stuff I just don't care to type out

    Suspension/brakes -
-Mopar springs (I left the isolators in so it rides like stock), new struts all around with new mounts
-New Hawk HP pads with Brembo rotors (just blanks, no drilled or slotted)
-I have all new MOOG ball joints/tie rod ends that I haven't installed yet... not really needed yet.

    Body -
-ALL ORIGINAL PAINT, NO ACCIDENTS/RUST REPAIR. Only the front bumper was repainted ~7 years ago due to an incident with my friend and his garage.
-The previous owner (my friend) painted the mirrors and door handles white to match the car.
Wheels/Tires - You can take your pick, or take em' all.
-15" Kosei K1 Racing wheels (super light) in white, with Falken Azenias (super sticky, no longer sold tires) currently on car
-17 Konig Villians w/BFG Tires (forgot what size, but they are wide)
    - Random Neon wheels/tires, I have 3 ACR wheels/tires and 2 "Sport" wheels with tires

    Pros -
-Fast and fun. BPU SRT8s and new V8 M3s are an even race with traction.
-no problems since swap except a slipping alternator belt and leaky exhast manifold gasket.
-No Power steering (at least it's a pro to me).
-Looks CLEAN, no rust. Original paint is still shiny, no swirls. Only one small ding on driver's side door
-Cheap for how fast and fun it is
-Tons of new parts, suspension, brakes, clutch, fuel pump, used motor (w/warranty when I bought it), all with less than 1500 miles on them.

    Cons -
-No heat (I bypassed the heater core because it's shot and I don't need heat)
-Alternator belt slips a little and exhaust manifold gasket leaks a little. It needs a new gasket since I screwed up the first one on install.
-No Power steering (I prefer it). I do however have the pump/brackets if you really want it.

Asking $4,500, for everything but offers welcome.

That was with me (335+), and my brother at 210+ in the car. 6.5psi boost.

Yeah... pretty innocent looking. lol Only thing that gives it away is the fuel pump whirring away in the back. People pull up next to you, look and smile... and then when they listen their smile goes away and they start checking out the car only to see it rocket away from their "modded" car.

    It's fun... that's for sure.

    Hey everyone,

Looks like it's going to rain for the rest of the afternoon, and then wet roads after that. No test drives today.

Sorry those that were coming by to look at the car tonight... well, you can still come by and look at it if you want to. This car hasn't been drivin' on anything but dry days for the past ~9 1/2 years and I'm not about to start driving it in the wet now.

I'll be sending PM's as well.

    Thanks everyone!

Some people have asked why I am selling... well here's what I wrote (and thanks for the compliment! ) :

I'm picking up a convertible "Terminator" (03'- 04' Mustang Cobra). Don't know why they call them that. I'm talking to someone with an 03' Sonic Blue vert and another with a Dark Shadow Gray vert. Basically, I don't have room in the garage for another car, and the $$$ from the Neon sell means more to put down on the Cobra.

There's a lot of history in this car for me and my younger brother, and the car itself. His friend purchased car car in 2000 I belive it was, and sent it to Hahn Racecraft for them to prototype/install the turbo kit. It was one of the first "aftermarket" turbo 4cyl cars around Woodward that was really FAST, not just some high 13 second car. He lost his license and then went into the military. The car sat for a long time in a climate controlled garage (see orignal post) and we bought it and upgraded/replaced what needed done. Drivin it less than 1500 miles in the 3 1/2 years since, only on Woodward Ave pretty much.

The turbo kit is not the typical Hahn Stg. 2 kit. The exhaust manifold is a hand welded piece vs a cast manifold, and the intercooler is an under/side mount with an aluminum scoop underneath to direct air at it.

EDIT: I just realized how long this is.. I"M SORRY... we've been drinking, watching the RED WINGS WIN!!

Just found all of the receipts for what I spent right after I bought the car. I spent over $3,100 on parts, engine and wheels/tires. Did all of the labor myself with my little bro. (he probably did more of it than I did lol)

I forgot to mention that before we dropped in the motor, we did a complete tune up with timing belt, water pump, tensioner, idlers, plugs, wires, MSD coil, etc. Plus new KYB struts, Mopar spings, new mounts, Mopar clutch, bobble strut, cat back, brake pads/rotors, the list goes on. Plus all of "yet to be installed" parts I talked about in the first post.

    I didn't realize.

Just an update... looks like the car may be sold. Got a deposit on it tonight and it should be picked up in the next couple of days. I'll post an update when there is one.

OH ok. This Matt"s old car. Hahn built that car as a favor the owed its dad. That thing has always been kept clean and fast.

What are you running for fuel management?

Yup.. that's Matt's old car. Didn't really want to give out his story, so military it is.

Hahn did a RRFPR and what I call a "MAP clamp" on the ECU. They spliced into the factory harness right where it connects to the ECU, so I assume that's what it is. The also installed an external inline pump and coverted the car to a return style fuel system.

When I bought the car from him, it was at ~82psi fuel pressure at 6psi of boost. I had to up the pressure to just over 100psi for it to run right (just slightly rich). He was running "lean and fast".... which also means short lived engines.
